I began writing this article with several drafts sounding scientific and intelligent. I typed through 3-4 paragraphs then scrapped the idea. At one a.m. when my intuitive voice seems to be the loudest thing in the house, it said to me “Corey, write what’s in your heart and how you feel; you’re an intuitive for goodness sake, feel your way through it.” So as you sit reading this article, I am reading you.
Your intuition is the hair that stands up on the back of your neck when you enter a room, an instant connection to a person you just met, knowing who is calling moments before the phone rings. It’s a feeling and a small voice at first, yet the more you exercise it and listen to it, the feeling becomes stronger and the voice becomes louder. So now you know the mystical secret of the psychics, mediums and intuitives; we are all gifted. Now that you have been awakened; will you choose to exercise this ability and use it to benefit your daily life?
When we are children and our subconscious mind is open and forming, we use our intuitive voice to guide us. As the years go by, our conscious mind forms creating a protective covering over the subconscious. At this point, most humans put their intuitive voices to sleep. We dismiss what has come so naturally.
Just like a muscle, your intuition must be flexed and exercised to strengthen it. Intuition comes in many forms. Clairaudience is hearing the intuitive voice. Clairsentience is feeling the intuition within your own body. Clairvoyance is seeing your intuition. How your intuition comes to you depends on the type of person you are. Understanding how you perceive the world on a conscious level will give you a clue into how you perceive the world on a subconscious level. Think for a moment how you learn in your environment. Must you see a task visually before performing it? Is simply hearing auditory directions enough for you to understand? Or is performing the task yourself manually how you comprehend. I have found in my journeys that people with learning disabilities have strengthened intuition because of the simple fact that they must feel their environment to function with the world around them.
Mediation is one of the best ways to start the strengthening process. Through mediation you will reinforce your visualization skills and the ability to listen to your inner voice. Pick a small object to focus on, like an apple. Look it over, paying attention to all the details of this apple: color, size, texture, smell. Get comfortable, quiet, and close your eyes. Create the apple in your mind. Try this for a few days until your picture becomes clearer. Now go inside, slipping into the apple in your mind. Observe and note your findings. Is there a bruise you can see only internally? Is it sweet? Can you smell it? Notice all the feelings that you get with this apple. Do you see its past in the orchard or hear a voice of the worker who picked it? At this point you are reading energy. You are listening to your intuitive voice. Continue this exercise until you feel you have mastered it. Remember that visualizing in your mind does not have to be crystal clear like a photograph. It is a picture and the feelings that surround that picture. This skill can take a few days or weeks depending on the person.
Intuition facilitates us in how we communicate with others. We can depend on it to guide us in our daily life. If only we all opened ourselves up to listen, not just to ourselves but the feelings of the person sitting next to you, your neighbor, even across the world from you. Intuition would serve as the much needed empathy the human race needs. It is a ripple effect that begins with you and me.
